Assignment #2
Due to: Fr. Sept. 26th (Same Date as Assignment 1 !)
Score: 5 points
The programs must be sent to the TA as MATLAB-scripts.
1.
- Load the 'bear' - grayvalue image and create 50 noisy versions adding random values (using the MATLAB 'rand' function)
- Average the noisy versions to a new image, show the result
- Show the error between the original (without noise) image and the averaged image by creating the (enhanced) difference
- Show the process of image averaging as a movie, showing in frame n the average of the first n noisy images, n=1:50
we'll talk about creating movies in the class and/or lab.

2.
- Load the picture below
- Create the histogram (try to find a MATLAB function that is helpful, using the 'lookfor histogram' command)
- Take a look at the histogram and decide a good threshold to create a binary (black/white) image
- Create and show a binary image using your threshold
Is it a good idea to use a global threshold ? How could the algorithm be improved ?
